TALLAHASSEE, FL – Below is a quote from Florida Petroleum Marketers & Convenience Store Association (FPMA) Executive Director Ned Bowman in support of Governor Scott signing SB 912 into law today. FPMA is a division of the Florida Retail Federation and this bill, among other things, helps to protect consumers from illegal gas pump skimmers by establishing increased safety standards for all Florida gas pumps as well as increasing penalties for anyone tampering with gas pumps:

“By signing this important bill into law, Governor Scott is helping to safeguard the financial information of Florida’s consumers, business owners and visitors by ensuring increased security is applied at each of Florida’s more than 6,000 gas pumps. On behalf of our members and Florida’s 10,000+ convenience store owners, I want to thank Governor Scott, Commissioner Adam Putnam, Representative Dana Young and Senator Anitere Flores for their hard work in addressing this issue and doing their part to protect all of us from being victims of gas pump skimmer fraud.”
