TALLAHASSEE, FL –The Florida Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association (FPMA), the state’s premier trade association representing the petroleum and c-store industries and a division of the Florida Retail Federation (FRF), announces the kick off of the 2015 Sunshine EXPO this Friday, August 28 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista. Running August 28-30, the EXPO is the most comprehensive food, beverage, fuel and convenience retailing event in Florida and one of the biggest in the Southeast, featuring more than 3,000 attendees and 400 exhibitors. The EXPO also features important training and educational sessions as well as presentations from numerous subject matter experts.
“We’re excited to be able to kick off the 2015 Sunshine EXPO, where we expect a record-setting crowd thanks to our enhanced partnerships and the incredible interest in attendees wanting to learn about the new industry products, trends and technology,” said FRF President/CEO Rick McAllister. “FPMA continues to be the go-to organization in Florida for retail petroleum and c-store issues and advocacy, and this EXPO helps solidify FPMA’s role as well as the importance of the industry in our state’s success.”
Some of the influential speakers scheduled to present include those from national fuel and beverage companies in addition to well-known legal experts, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Oil Price Information Service, which helps set national prices for gasoline.
Also during the EXPO, FPMA will award two $6,000 scholarships to two deserving high school seniors. The winners are Maxwell Klyczek of Pembroke Pines and Margaret Kalka of Jacksonville. FPMA has granted academic scholarships exclusively to owners, employees and their children to attend college and become successors of the family business or entrepreneurs of their own. The winners were selected from a diverse and impressive pool of applicants.
