Pharm Alert Florida Administrative Weekly - January 31, 2012

Friday's Florida Administrative Weekly included a number of items relating to pharmacy.

Under Notices of Proposed Rules and Negotiated Rulemaking, the Board of Pharmacy proposes a rule amendment to 64B16-28.100 (Pharmacy Permits - Applications and Permitting) to add a subsection regarding the policy and procedural manual for community pharmacies regarding the procedures implemented to minimize dispensing of controlled substances based on fraudulent misrepresentations.

Under Proposed Rules:

• The Board of Pharmacy:
• Proposes to repeal 64B16-25.130 (Executive Director) because it duplicates what is otherwise provided for in statute or is otherwise procedural and unnecessary in nature.
• Proposes to repeal 64B16-29.003 (Drug Requirement) because it duplicates what is otherwise provided for in statute or is otherwise procedural and unnecessary in nature.
• Proposes a rule amendment to 64B16-30.001 (Disciplinary Guidelines; Range of Penalties; Aggravating and Mitigating Circumstances) to update the guidelines, minor violations and citations.
• The Division of Family Health Services proposes a rule to repeal the chapter on Administration of Statewide Pharmaceutical Contract (64F-15.001) and Agency Contact (64F-15.002).

Under Notices of Meetings, Workshops and Public Hearings:

• The Drug Wholesale Distributor Advisory Council announces a public meeting to discuss General Business.
• The Board of Optometry, Topical Ocular Pharmaceutical Agents Committee announces a telephone conference call to discuss the addition of Natacyn to the formulary.
